Finally it's over. I'm proud to say we only forgot to move Peaches one night the whole time she was on our mantel. It happened while M was sick and I told her Peaches knew M wasn't feeling well so she decided to go easy on her for one night. The next morning, M woke up to find a note in her coloring book from Peaches:
Then this happened:
So we did this:
Which M thought was hilarious. She said, "
What
is Peaches doing? She is giving a dinosaur a check up! You wanna take a
picture of that? You better take a picture. That's a dinosaur getting a
check up!"
After the kids started to feel better, we took things up a notch and tried to make the most of the last few days with Peaches. We missed a few pictures but one morning Peaches was swinging from the ceiling fan, M woke up to find Peaches sitting on the couch, eating cookies and watching M's favorite movie, Oz the Great and Powerful. We did manage to snap a few pictures. Peaches hanging from our tree topper and my personal favorite, making sure the undies were hung by the chimney with care.

It was fun. M loved it. I'm glad we don't have to get out of bed every night to go move the Elf because we forgot almost every single night. One morning I woke up and noticed our goldfish was not moving and did not appear to be breathing. She was floating on the surface of the water and I was convinced she was dead. My first thought was to move the elf to the fish bowl to make it look like Peaches killed the fish. For picture taking purposes only. I would never show it to M. Luckily, I managed to resurrect the fish with a little food but I missed out on a funny picture. The Elf is pretty creepy.
